David King

David King's linework story runs through three generations of his family and more than 50 years in the trade. After graduating from Mesa College's early line program and the Mountain States Line Apprenticeship in 1980, he traveled the West for a decade before finishing a long career at Colorado Springs Utilities — the same utility where his father and grandfather worked before him. In retirement he founded and directed the Trinidad State Rocky Mountain Line School, later serving as Assistant Training Director for Mountain States Line Apprenticeship in Colorado, then returning to lead RMLS again. David has taught well over 1,000 students and apprentices, competed in regional and international lineman rodeos, helped design lineman-rated equipment with Buckingham, and never stopped giving back to the craft. His guiding standard for every student remains competence, character, and commitment.
