About Lineman Central

Lineman Central ("us," "we," or "the Site") is a website operated to support the electric lineman industry in North America. Mailing address: Lineman Central, 10228 E Northwest Hwy, Unit #250, Dallas, TX 75238.

Our purpose: community service for the trade

Lineman Central views itself as a community service for the line trade: a place where workers, training programs, employers, and local halls can find and contribute practical information. Much of what you see is crowd-sourced or compiled from public submissions, surveys, industry correspondence, research across the industry, and other imperfect sources. We aim to help people make better decisions about training, careers, and work in this trade, and we admit openly that we cannot guarantee 100% accurate, complete, or up-to-date data at all times.

If you spot an error or have a correction (especially if you are hall staff, a program director, or an employer), please contact us. Corrections help the community; they do not create a warranty that every page is always current.

No affiliation with IBEW or labor organizations

Lineman Central is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), any IBEW local union, the AFL-CIO, or any labor organization. Use of IBEW local names, numbers, and publicly available information on the Site is solely for informational aggregation and reference purposes. Lineman Central makes no claim of ownership over any union's name, logo, or trademark. All trademarks and service marks belong to their respective owners. We are likewise not affiliated with any governmental agency or trade association unless we expressly say so.

Agreement to these terms

By accessing and using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the Site. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time; material updates will be reflected by the “Last updated” date on this page, and continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the changes. If you use the Site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Eligibility & age

The Site is intended for users who are at least eighteen (18) years old, or the age of majority in their jurisdiction if higher. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it. See also our Privacy Policy.

Use of website & content

The content provided on Lineman Central is for informational and educational purposes only. It is meant as a community reference, not as official advice from any union, employer, school, or regulator, and not as legal, financial, tax, or professional advice.

Users may not reproduce, distribute, or modify website content without explicit permission. Lineman Central does not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of any content provided, including industry statistics based on survey data, crowd-sourced submissions, estimates, or research. Information may lag reality. Users assume full responsibility for any actions taken based on information obtained from the Site. Submission of information through the Site constitutes permission to be contacted as described in “Phone, SMS, email & communications” below and in our Privacy Policy.

Crowd-sourced contributions, photos & corrections

The Site may accept tips, profile updates, nominations, reviews, photos, lead forms, hall or program corrections, and other user- or organization-submitted material. By submitting content, you represent that: (a) you have the right to share it; (b) it is not knowingly false or misleading; (c) if it depicts or identifies another person, you have any consent needed to share their name, likeness, or contact details for this purpose; and (d) it does not infringe others’ rights or violate law.

You grant Lineman Central a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable license to use, host, reproduce, modify for formatting, distribute, publicly display, and create derivative works from that material in connection with operating, promoting, and improving the Site and related services.

We may edit, refuse, redact, or remove submissions at our discretion, including for moderation, legal risk, or community standards. Publishing a contribution does not mean we have independently verified every detail. Crowd-sourcing improves coverage over time; it does not make the Site a certified record of wages, books, calls, tuition, or hiring. You retain ownership of your submissions subject to the license above. To request removal of a published submission that identifies you, contact us as described in our Privacy Policy.

Union directory & work-intel data: no warranty of correctness

Certain pages on the Site display information about local unions, including (without limitation) book or out-of-work list signals, wage or scale rates, benefits line items, work outlook tags, open-call hints, contractor lists, and related directory data. That information may be compiled from public sources, industry reports, surveys, user or hall submissions, research across the industry, and other imperfect inputs. Consistent with our community-service purpose, we try to keep it useful, and we admit it may be incomplete, incorrect, delayed, or out of date. We do not claim 100% accuracy at all times.

You acknowledge and agree that: (a) research and assisted parsing are inherently imperfect; (b) job calls or openings referenced on informational pages may have been filled, cancelled, modified, or may never have existed in the form shown; (c) scale rates, book numbers, and similar figures may not reflect current or correct values; and (d) the union directory and work-intel features are a supplemental reference tool only. Always verify directly with the local union (and, where applicable, with the hiring employer) before making any travel, employment, or other decision.

User accounts & career center

Users may access most content freely, but job-related services may require separate account registration on a third-party subdomain. Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their account credentials and for all activity under their accounts. See the full career center terms and conditions. Those career-center terms apply to the job board in addition to these Terms.

Employment, job board & training disclaimers

Informational union and career content on the Site is not itself a staffing, dispatch, or job-placement service and does not guarantee employment. Separately, Lineman Central operates a job board at jobs.linemancentral.com where employers may post openings and candidates may create accounts, apply, and set alerts; that board may generate revenue for Lineman Central and is governed by the career center terms linked above. Use of the job board still does not guarantee employment, interviews, or hiring outcomes. Lineman Central provides information on training programs but does not guarantee school acceptance or training program placement.

When you submit a request for information about a training program, we may share the submitted contact details (name, phone number, email, and related form fields) with the educational institution or training provider you expressed interest in. Lineman Central also partners with National Public Power Pre-Apprenticeship and may share program-interest leads with that partner and other training partners so they can provide related career-preparation and training information. You may receive follow-up from Lineman Central, the school you selected, and those training partners as described in the communications section and our Privacy Policy.

Phone, SMS, email & communications

By submitting a form on our Site and providing a phone number or email address, you consent to being contacted by Lineman Central, and (where your request involves a school or training opportunity) by that school and our training partners, via email, phone, and SMS/text for follow-up on your request and related educational or career information. Our team may use phone and text as part of ordinary lead follow-up. Where automated dialing or messaging systems are used for texts or calls, you consent to that contact to the extent permitted by law. Consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services where applicable law so requires.

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. You may opt out of SMS by following instructions in the message (such as replying STOP) or by contacting us; you may opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link or by emailing us. Opting out of one channel does not automatically opt you out of all channels. Transactional or service messages may still be sent where permitted.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Site. Without limitation, you may not: attempt to scrape, crawl, harvest, overload, or disrupt the Site except as allowed by public search engines in the ordinary course; bypass access controls or rate limits; reverse engineer systems except where prohibited by law to disallow that restriction; submit malware, spam, or unlawful content; harvest personal information of others; impersonate a union, employer, school, or person; interfere with other users; or use the Site to harass, defraud, or violate any law. We may investigate suspected violations and cooperate with law enforcement.

Suspension & termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Site (in whole or in part) at any time, with or without notice, for conduct we reasonably believe violates these Terms, harms the community or our systems, creates legal risk, or for operational reasons. You may stop using the Site at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including licenses you granted, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, dispute resolution, and interpretation clauses) survive termination.

Affiliate disclosure

Lineman Central participates in the Amazon Associates Program and other affiliate marketing programs. Links on the Site may generate commission for Lineman Central without affecting the purchase price. Lineman Central is not responsible for the content or policies of third-party affiliates. Community-service intent does not mean the Site is non-commercial. Sponsorships, placements, training referrals, and the job board may generate revenue that help keep the resource running.

Third-party links & services

Lineman Central provides links to external job listings, training programs, payment processors, analytics providers, and affiliate partners. We do not control or endorse third-party content and are not responsible for any transactions, privacy practices, or interactions with such third parties. Users engage with third-party services at their own risk and subject to those parties' terms.

Intellectual property

The Site, including its design, text, graphics, logos, compilation, and software (excluding user submissions and third-party marks), is owned by Lineman Central or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited right to access and use the Site for personal, non-commercial informational purposes (or legitimate business evaluation of listings), no license is granted. Union, employer, school, and other third-party names and logos remain the property of their owners and appear for reference only.

Copyright complaints (DMCA)

If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, send a notice consistent with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to our DMCA agent: Lineman Central, Attn: DMCA Agent, 10228 E Northwest Hwy, Unit #250, Dallas, TX 75238, or email info@linemancentral.com, with: (a) your physical or electronic signature; (b) identification of the copyrighted work; (c) identification of the material claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient to locate it; (d) your contact information; (e) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized; and (f) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act. We may remove or disable content and, in appropriate circumstances, terminate repeat infringers. Counter-notices may be submitted as permitted by law.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT, DATA, AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LINEMAN CENTRAL DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT ANY CONTENT (INCLUDING WAGES, BOOKS, CALLS, TUITION, OR EMPLOYER DATA) IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LINEMAN CENTRAL AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SITE, INCLUDING DECISIONS ABOUT TRAVEL, EMPLOYMENT, TRAINING ENROLLMENT, OR RELIANCE ON WAGES, BOOKS, CALLS, OR OTHER DIRECTORY DATA, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SITE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US (IF ANY) FOR ACCESS TO THE SITE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE CASES, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED.

Indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Lineman Central and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: your use of the Site; your submissions; your violation of these Terms or any law; your infringement of third-party rights; or any dispute between you and a union, employer, school, or other third party in connection with the Site.

Governing law, venue & dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except where federal law (including the Federal Arbitration Act) controls.

Informal resolution first: before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at info@linemancentral.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days.

Binding arbitration: Except for disputes that may be brought in small-claims court or suits to enjoin intellectual-property infringement or unauthorized access to our systems, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules (or Commercial Rules if more appropriate). The arbitration may be conducted by video, phone, or in Dallas County, Texas. YOU AND WE WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL.

Class-action waiver: YOU AND WE AGREE THAT CLAIMS MAY BE BROUGHT ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, COLLECTIVE, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims without all parties' consent.

If the class-action waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim must proceed in court and not in arbitration. If the arbitration agreement is found unenforceable in whole, disputes will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Opt-out: you may opt out of arbitration within thirty (30) days of first accepting these Terms by emailing info@linemancentral.com with your name and a clear statement that you opt out of arbitration.

International users

The Site is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws. Personal information may be processed in the United States and other countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction. See our Privacy Policy for additional detail.

Force majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, strikes, shortages, network or utility failures, or failures of third-party platforms (including hosting, email, or the job-board provider).

Severability, waiver, assignment & entire agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or if modification is not possible, severed; the remaining provisions will continue in full force. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, or sale of assets. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any career-center terms that apply to your use of the job board, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site and supersede prior or contemporaneous understandings on that subject. Section titles are for convenience only.

Changes to terms

Lineman Central reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Material updates will be noted by changing the “Last updated” date on this page. Your continued use after the effective date of changes means you accept the revised Terms.
