Introduction

Lineman Central ("us," "we," or "the Site") is a website operated to support the electric lineman industry in North America. Mailing address: Lineman Central, 10228 E Northwest Hwy, Unit #250, Dallas, TX 75238. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), any IBEW local union, the AFL-CIO, or any labor organization. See our Terms for the full affiliation and trademark statement. By using this site you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

This Privacy Policy describes personal information we collect through the Site, how we use and share it, and choices you have. It applies to information collected through linemancentral.com and related first-party forms. It does not cover the job board at jobs.linemancentral.com (governed by that career center’s own terms and privacy practices) or third-party sites we link to.

Industry information we publish

The data presented on this site is to support the electric lineman industry in North America. Information about education programs, employers, unions, and other industry resources is collected through surveys, correspondence, public sources, user submissions, and research. Some items may become out of date. We cannot guarantee that every published fact is always complete or current.

What we collect

We collect personal information when you choose to interact with the Site. What we gather depends on the form or feature you use. Typical categories:

Lead and contact forms (program interest, union alerts, contact, newsletter, financing interest, and similar): name, email address, phone number (when provided), message or note content, the program or page you came from, and marketing/attribution data such as UTM parameters or referrer.

User-generated content: reviews, tips, profile updates, cause submissions, lineworker nominations (including nominator and nominee names and emails when provided), photos or other files you upload, and related moderation metadata.

Automatically collected technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, timestamps, and similar log or analytics data. We use cookies and similar technologies as described below.

We do not ask for date of birth, full street address, or precise GPS location on standard Site forms. If a future form asks for additional fields, those fields will be shown at collection.

For purposes of this policy, "personal information" means information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked to you — for example name, email, phone, or an online identifier. It does not include information we maintain in a fully de-identified or aggregate form.

How we use personal information

We use personal information to: respond to your request (including forwarding interest to a school or other provider you asked about); operate and improve the Site; moderate and publish user submissions where appropriate; send transactional or follow-up messages; send educational and marketing communications by email, phone, or text where you consented; measure traffic and diagnose technical issues; prevent fraud and abuse; comply with law; and protect our rights and the community.

When you submit a program-interest or similar training lead, we may also use your information to offer related career-preparation and training resources from Lineman Central and its training partners, as described in “How we share information” and our Terms.

How we share information

We share personal information in these situations:

Providers you requested. If you ask for information about a specific school, employer, or other provider, we may share your contact details with that provider so they can follow up.

Training partners. Lineman Central partners with National Public Power Pre-Apprenticeship and may share program-interest and similar lead information with that partner (and other training partners we work with) so they can contact you about related training opportunities by email, phone, or text, consistent with your consent and applicable law.

Service providers. We use vendors to host the Site, store data, send email and text messages, provide security and bot checks, monitor errors, and analyze site performance. They process information on our instructions and for these business purposes.

Affiliates and commercial programs. If you click an affiliate link (for example Amazon Associates) or engage with a sponsored placement, the partner may receive information about that interaction under their own policies.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information when we believe it is necessary to comply with law or legal process; enforce our Terms; or protect the rights, safety, or property of Lineman Central, our users, or others.

Business transfers. If Lineman Central’s assets are sold, merged, or reorganized, user information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy or a successor policy.

We do not sell personal information for money in the ordinary sense. Some analytics or advertising technologies may be treated as a “sale” or “share” under certain state privacy laws — see “Your privacy rights” below.

Email, phone & text

If you provide an email or phone number and consent to be contacted, our team (and, where applicable, a school or training partner involved in your request) may contact you by email, phone call, or SMS/text about your inquiry and related training or career information. Texts may be sent using automated systems. Message and data rates may apply; frequency varies. Consent is not a condition of purchasing any good or service where law requires that disclosure.

Opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link or by emailing us. Opt out of texts by replying STOP (or as the message instructs) or by contacting us. Opting out of one channel does not automatically opt you out of others. We may still send transactional or service messages where permitted.

User-generated content & photos

If you submit reviews, nominations, tips, photos, or other content, that material (and personal information in it) may be reviewed by our team and, if approved, published on the Site. You may include information about other people (for example a nominee). Only submit information you have the right to share.

To request removal or correction of a published submission that identifies you, email us at the address below. We will take reasonable steps to verify the request and respond. Removal from our Site does not erase copies others may have saved, or content already indexed by search engines.

Cookies, logs & analytics

We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies for essential site functions (security, load balancing, remembering preferences), analytics (including Google Analytics), and — when you click affiliate or partner links — attribution. Server logs may include IP address and pages visited. We do not use a cookie consent pop-up; these technologies load in the ordinary course of using the Site.

You can control or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may limit some Site features. We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals. If you want to opt out of analytics or advertising-related “sale”/“share” activity to the extent we control it, use the privacy-request process in “Your privacy rights” below (subject line “Do Not Sell or Share”), or contact us with a specific tracking concern.

Third-party sites & the job board

Links to external sites, payment processors, social features, affiliate retailers, and the career center at jobs.linemancentral.com are governed by those parties’ policies. Including a link does not mean we endorse the destination. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information we hold. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. If you believe your information has been compromised in connection with the Site, notify us at info@linemancentral.com.

Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy — for example to complete your request, operate the Site, moderate content, honor opt-outs, resolve disputes, and meet legal or accounting requirements. When we no longer need it for those purposes, we delete or de-identify it where reasonably practicable.

To request that we delete or stop using your information, email info@linemancentral.com. We may retain limited information as required by law or for legitimate business records (including suppression lists so we do not contact you again after an opt-out).

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live (including California and other U.S. states with consumer privacy laws), you may have the right to: know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it; access or receive a copy; correct inaccurate information; delete personal information; opt out of certain “sales” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (as those terms are defined by applicable law); and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

To submit a request, email info@linemancentral.com with the subject line “Privacy Request,” your name, the email address you used on the Site, and the type of request. We will verify your identity using information we already have (typically matching the email on file) before fulfilling the request. You may use an authorized agent where law allows; we may still need to verify both you and the agent. We aim to respond within 45 days, or as required by law.

Categories we typically collect: identifiers (name, email, phone, IP); commercial or inquiry information (forms you submit, pages related to your request); internet/activity data (browsing on our Site, analytics); and inferences we might draw to improve outreach relevance. We collect these from you, from your device/browser, and from partners involved in a request you initiated.

We do not knowingly “sell” personal information for cash. We may use analytics and affiliate tools that some laws treat as a “sale” or “share.” To opt out of that type of activity to the extent we control it, email us with “Do Not Sell or Share” in the subject line. We do not currently treat browser Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an automated opt-out; use the email request above.

Age & minors

The Site is intended for users who are at least eighteen (18) years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have collected information from a minor, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

International visitors

The Site is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., you do so on your own initiative. Personal information may be processed in the United States and other countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date on this page. For material changes to how we use personally identifiable information, we may also notify you by email if we have your address. Continued use of the Site after the effective date of changes means you accept the revised policy, except where applicable law requires a different consent method.
