Storm work
Get on the roster before the weather hits.
Storm work is the trade’s overtime engine. Big weeks, hard hours. Get visible before the callouts go out. A roster seat is availability, not a job.

How Lineman Central works
Get found when the callouts start.
This is not a guarantee of storm work. It’s how you get found when crews are staffing up, without buying a listing or feeding a resume mill.
01
Get visible
Publish a resume on the Lineman Central jobs board. You control the switch: set visibility, keep credentials current, stay reachable.
02
Stay free on the list
Contractors and utilities browse the roster. If they want your contact, they pay $35 to connect. You never pay to be on the list.
03
Take the call, or pass
A roster seat is not a job offer. When a callout lands, ask rate, OT, per diem, lodging, and travel before you commit. Bad calls show themselves early.

Before the text blast
Papers ready. Phone charged.
When utilities take contractor rosters, speed wins. Expired CDL or Clearinghouse gaps get men cut after they thought they were in. Get on the lists early. Atlantic season runs June 1 – November 30.
- CDL, DOT medical, and Clearinghouse consent current
- FR gear, rubber goods, and glove size on file
- Phone charged and reachable when the text blast hits
- Resume published on Lineman Central
Straight answers
Before you commit to a call.
What does “on the roster” actually mean?
You’re on a callout list. When weather hits, outfits text or call for hands. Signing up does not guarantee you roll. Keep CDL, DOT medical, and Clearinghouse ready so you don’t get cut when the list moves.
Do I pay to be on Lineman Central’s storm roster?
No. You’re on the list free. When a contractor wants your number, they pay us $35 to connect, and only if you’re interested. No job promise. No fee from you. Ever.
What should I ask before I roll?
Base hourly rate. OT after 8, 10, or 40, and any double time. Per diem every calendar day or only days worked. Lodging provided or on you. Travel paid both ways. Expected shift length and how long the run lasts. If the dispatcher won’t answer those, or the pay talk changes after you arrive, pass.
Who are the contractors listed below?
Outfits we’ve seen running storm response. They’re on our radar as future partners, not an endorsement and not click-out signup links (yet). You still vet any call yourself.
Is “storm chasing” a dirty word?
Among travelers, no. That’s what a lot of guys call the work. Some utility and mutual-aid folks side-eye the cowboy end of it. We mean restoration callouts, not cutting corners. If an outfit plays games with pay or safety, skip them.

Outfits we’ve seen running storm response. Not partners (yet) and not a recommendation. We’re holding outbound roster links while we figure partner feeds and onboarding.
