Clarion University Associate of Applied Science Program
The Associate of Applied Science in applied technology degree program utilizes a creative partnership approach designed to prepare students for a career path leading to a wide range of opportunities. Clarion University is the first university in northwestern Pennsylvania to offer an associate degree in applied technology. Under this unique model, student's complete general education and business courses at Venango campus or online and complete the technical component of the degree through licensed, certified and/or otherwise approved technical education providers.
Apprenticeship training is through Global Powerline Academy at Blue Knob Ski Resort. Training includes: Climbing wood poles & pole top rescue; Basic Rigging as it applies to our work; Basic Electrical Theory; General safety practices of our industry; CPR/ First Aid; Personal Protective Equipment; Grounding for personal protection; Power line Construction; Digger Derrick Training; Proper Cover-up methods.
