East River Electric Cooperative is hiring linemen. East River Electric is a not-for-profit generation and transmission cooperative with a main campus in Madison, South Dakota. East River Electric Power Co-op delivers wholesale power to members that include 24 rural electric distribution cooperatives and one municipally owned electric system in eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota.
Step 01. Pay

Step 02. Apprentice
The apprentice lineworkers at East Power Co-Op works under general supervision of the Foreman the Lineman performs skilled line work in the operation, maintenance and repair of overhead and underground electrical distribution and transmission systems. Learn and assist with operating, inspecting, and maintaining aerial devices, digger/derricks, excavation equipment, and other electric line related equipment. Assist Journeyman class with performing distribution switching, documentation and mapping information, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Step 03. Journeyman
Journeyman lineman at East River Electric Power Co-op is responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of overhead and underground electrical power lines and auxiliary equipment. This includes work from power plants to the meters of customers homes. Additionally, a lineman digs trenches for the installation of underground lines, install meters, climb poles to repair overhead lines and inspect power lines for possible repair or replacement.
Step 04. Hiring
East River Electric Cooperative Lineman must have the ability to climb the work, working of 3 years experience and High school diploma.
