Magnolia Electric is hiring linemen. Magnolia Electric Power is a not-for-profit, consumer-owned electric distribution cooperative serving six counties in Southwest Mississippi. Electric power is distributed in Pike and Walthall and parts of Lincoln, Lawrence, Franklin and Amite counties. The service area is mostly rural. A nine-member Board of Directors elected by the membership governs the cooperative.
Step 01. Pay
The salary range for a Lineman at Magnolia Electric is from $20 to $30 per hour. Magnolia Electric Power benefits and perks, including insurance benefits, retirement benefits, and vacation policy.
Step 02. Apprentice
Lineman apprentices at Magnolia Electric will be responsible for construction, maintenance and operations. Use shovels, sledge hammers and 90 lb jack hammers. Perform aerial work in a safety belt in a safe and efficient manner
Step 03. Journeyman
Journeyman lineman at Magnolia Electric This includes work from power plants to the meters of customers homes. Additionally, a lineman digs trenches for the installation of underground lines, install meters, climb poles to repair overhead lines and inspect power lines for possible repair or replacement.
Step 04. Hiring
To become a Lineman at Magnolia Electric required 2 years of job experience, preferably in the electrical field.
