Step 02. Apprentice
Apprentices at Ameren, Under immediate supervision, working on a line construction or maintenance crew in the capacity of an apprentice for advancement to Journeyman Lineman. Advance in such work in accordance with an orderly program, initially on unenergized circuits, and later on work on energized circuits ranging progressively from lower to maximum voltage Perform such work at first under the leadership of a Crew Leader or Line Foreman, and later independently after ability to perform each phase of the work skillfully and safely has been demonstrated; and to do similar and less skilled work as assigned.
Step 03. Journeyman
Journeyman lineman at Ameren Under indirect and intermittent supervision, working mostly on a rotating shift, but at times on a regular day-shift assignment, and regularly working alone, to patrol, repair and restore service and handle customer service repairs and adjustments as found necessary to restore service.
Step 04. Hiring
Lineman at Ameren must have successfully completed A.L.B.A.T. (American Line Builders Apprentice Training) or an equivalent lineman training program. Possess a High School diploma or equivalent. Possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
