Tacoma Power is hiring linemen. The utility operates six divisions: Transmission and Distribution, Generation, Rates, Planning and Analysis, Power Management, Utility Technology Services, and Click! Network, and serves more than 166,000 customers in the cities of Tacoma, University Place, Fircrest; portions of Fife, Lakewood, Federal Way and other areas of Pierce County as far south as Roy.
Step 01. Pay

Step 02. Apprentice
Apprentice lineworkers at Tacoma Power will work involved with the installation, rearrangement, maintenance, operation, removal and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities; drive and operate line trucks and associated auxiliary equipment.
Step 03. Journeyman
Journeyman lineman at Tacoma Power Lineman constructs, maintains, and repairs overhead and underground transmission lines. Performs site preparation tasks, including digging holes or trenches, installing anchors, climbing poles, and using equipment like digger derricks, aerial lifts, pulling and tensioning equipment, forklifts, and dump trucks. Being a Lineman installs wire and cable. Follows all safety regulations and procedures.
Step 04. Hiring
Tacoma Power Lineman must have one year of experience and diploma experience and gear tools.
