Step 02. Apprentice
As a Groundman/ Apprentice Lineman at Green Island Power Authority you will assist and learn under a Journeyman Lineman in Building and Maintaining Powerlines for various Utility Contractors. This Job also consists of working sometimes in inclement weather such as Hurricanes, Snow Storms, Tornadoes, Hard Freezes, & Fires.
Step 03. Journeyman
Journeyman lineman at Green Island Power Authority Ability to efficiently handle emergencies and multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to accurately read and interpret as-builts, blue prints, diagrams, sketches, construction plans, and key maps of underground utilities systems. Ability to accurately prepare reports and keep records.
Step 04. Hiring
Lineman at Green Island Power Authority requires having a valid commercial driver's license (CDL), first aid certification, competency in CPR and pole top rescue. Minimum of 4 years powerline experience required.
