Step 01. Pay

Step 02. Apprentice
The apprentice lineworkers at Huntsville Utilities works under general supervision of the Foreman the Lineman performs skilled line work in the operation, maintenance and repair of overhead and underground electrical distribution and transmission systems. Learn and assist with operating, inspecting, and maintaining aerial devices, digger/derricks, excavation equipment, and other electric line related equipment. Assist Journeyman class with performing distribution switching, documentation and mapping information, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Step 03. Journeyman
Journeyman lineman at Huntsville Utilities assumes the responsibility for the delivery of adequate, safe, and quality potable water and takes immediate action if compromised. This requires working independently during after hours, weekends, and holidays. Immediately notifies Water Treatment Plant Operator-Chief and/or Water Treatment Plant Supervisor of results indicative of impact on water quality or the detection of equipment malfunctions.
