Jackson EMC is hiring linemen. Jackson EMC is one of the largest electric cooperatives in the nation with four district offices, plus a corporate campus, servicing 10 counties in Northeast Georgia, providing power to more than 237,000 meters on 14,360 miles of lines with 81 substations. Jackson EMC service territory includes Gwinnett, Hall, Jackson, Barrow, Madison, Clarke, Banks, Lumpkin, Franklin and Oglethorpe counties. Jackson EMC has district offices in Gainesville, Jefferson, Lawrenceville and Hull with engineering and operations centers in Lawrenceville, Jefferson and Oakwood.

Step 02. Apprentice
Lineman apprentices at Jackson EMC will be responsible for construction, maintenance and operations. Use shovels, sledge hammers and 90 lb jack hammers. Perform aerial work in a safety belt in a safe and efficient manner
Step 03. Journeyman
Journeyman lineman at Jackson EMC train apprentices and other crew members in maintenance and construction of power lines. They also inspect lines, poles and equipment for signs of damage or wear and reports deficiencies.
Step 04. Hiring
Jackson EMC Require a minimum of three (3) years progressive experience in electric system line construction, operations, and maintenance in a line crew.
