Lineman Apprenticeships at Alameda Municipal Power
The lineworker apprentice at Alameda Municipal Power is responsible for a variety of tasks and accepts assignments from Line Supervisor on shift and shall be assigned to work directly with a 1st Class Lineman. Learns to perform those tasks required in the construction, maintenance or operation of electrical power transmission and distribution facilities. Lineman Apprentice I shall be assigned to a Line Supervisor on 1 of 4 rotating shift schedule: midnight to 08:00 a.m.; 08:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m.; and 04:00 p.m. to midnight and a swing-shift.

Possession of a valid Class A State of California Driver's License (or possession of a valid Class C license at the time of employment and the ability to obtain Class A within six months of employment) and a satisfactory driving record as conditions of initial and continued employment. Employees in positions requiring a Class A license are subject to provisions of the Department of Transportation's drug and alcohol testing program.
