Riverside Public Utilities is hiring linemen. City of Riverside Lineman are primarily tasked with system construction and maintenance of the 22,840 power poles, 510 miles of overhead, and 800 miles of underground transmission and distribution electric lines that serve the city's energy customers. This group also provides electrical emergency response and maintains the City's street light system.
Step 01. Pay

Step 02. Apprentice
Lineworker apprentices at Riverside Public Utilities will experience with both sticking and gloving methods of work Apprentices will learn all aspects of Line work while completing on the job training (OJT) hours. Assist in the construction of new overhead and underground services and service upgrades. Operate heavy and light equipment including digger derricks, aerial lift devices, pulling and tensioning equipment, forklifts, dump trucks and various dirt equipment. Apprentice must, at all times, follow all safety policies and procedures
Step 03. Journeyman
Journeyman lineman at Riverside Public Utilities Receives and processes orders via CAD, Performs water and gas off orders, Performs "basic" water and gas functions (i.e. meter verifications, ERTs, paints, removals (water), Performs the necessary paperwork in connection with assigned duties and Operates a truck in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the Utility's safety policies and practices, and with local and state laws and regulations.

Lineman at Required Public Utilities Ability to safely work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders, Qualifications. Must be at least 18 years old; Must be able to pass pre-employment background.
