Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative is part of the Touchstone Energy® national alliance of local, consumer-owned electric cooperatives providing high standards of service to members large and small. Approximately 75 employees serve more than 20,000 meters and 2,600 miles of line in Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Jackson, Walton and Washington counties and in the municipalities of Wewahitchka, Ebro, Lynn Haven, White City, Fountain and Southport.
Step 01. Pay

Step 02. Apprentice
The lineworker apprentice at Gulf Coast Electric is responsible for a variety of tasks and accepts assignments from Line Supervisor on shift and shall be assigned to work directly with a 1st Class Lineman. Learns to perform those tasks required in the construction, maintenance or operation of electrical power transmission and distribution facilities. Lineman Apprentice I shall be assigned to a Line Supervisor on 1 of 4 rotating shift schedule: midnight to 08:00 a.m.; 08:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m.; and 04:00 p.m. to midnight and a swing-shift.
Step 03. Journeyman
Journeyman lineman at Gulf Coast Electric Coop involves the performance of skilled tasks in accordance with standard trade practices. The lineman-A monitors work to ensure supervised operations are conducted in a safe, efficient and effective manner according to the required standards.
Step 04. Hiring
A Lineman at Gulf Coast Electric Coop must have a Class A CDL and minimum of five years Line Tech experience and safety information.
