Step 02. Apprentice
The lineworker apprentice at Okefenoke REMC is responsible for a variety of tasks and accepts assignments from Line Supervisor on shift and shall be assigned to work directly with a 1st Class Lineman. Learns to perform those tasks required in the construction, maintenance or operation of electrical power transmission and distribution facilities. Lineman Apprentice I shall be assigned to a Line Supervisor on 1 of 4 rotating shift schedule: midnight to 08:00 a.m.; 08:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m.; and 04:00 p.m. to midnight and a swing-shift.
Step 03. Journeyman
Journeyman lineman at Okefenoke REMC Safely drive, operate, and maintain bucket truck, Maintain tool, material, and required safety gear inventory, Maintain thorough compliance with all federal, state, and local safety requirements.
Step 04. Hiring
To become a Lineman at Okefenoke REMC Effectively and efficiently directing and performing all duties required in construction and maintenance of the OREMC distribution system according to RUS specifications, electrical codes and all safety rules and regulations. Providing leadership and good working conditions through effective supervisory practices.
