Lineman Apprenticeships at Holyoke Gas and Electric
The lineworker apprentice at Holyoke Electric is responsible for a variety of tasks and accepts assignments from Line Supervisor on shift and shall be assigned to work directly with a 1st Class Lineman. Learns to perform those tasks required in the construction, maintenance or operation of electrical power transmission and distribution facilities. Lineman Apprentice I shall be assigned to a Line Supervisor on 1 of 4 rotating shift schedule: midnight to 08:00 a.m.; 08:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m.; and 04:00 p.m. to midnight and a swing-shift.

Journeyman lineman at Holyoke Gas and Electric apprentice lineman you will work under close supervision as you develop the knowledge, ability and other qualifications to perform the duties of a Journeyman Lineman. You will perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the construction, maintenance and repair of Midwest Energy's distribution and fiber system and other duties as assigned. This work will involve operating overhead and underground construction and electric facilities equipment. This position is subject to additional after-hours work. Learn and apply skilled technical work in all phases of underground and overhead in the erection. installation. repair and maintenance of primary and secondary electric lines for light, heat, and power including poles, manholes, cables, and auxiliary equipment.
